Shortboards are your everyday performance boards. These are perfect for a larger, stronger wave as they'll be the most manouverable and the fastest of the bunch. While you could learn on a shortboard, you'll probably want a bit of experience before tackling the sea on this board as while they are much more manuverable, they will be narrower, shorter and have less volume so getting up and staying up will be harder.
