Groveler boards are the perfect choice for a smaller wave, usually from knee to shoulder height with a weaker swell. Surfing small is hard enough as it is made way easier and more enjoyable with a Groveler. If you're in and up quickly you'll find the board picking up speed from planing across the wave, this is helped by the high volume.
The Groverler is wide, concaved on the bottom and full of volume, they also typically feature a thicker rail to make paddling a breeze. There are plenty of beginner characteristics that are shown with the board but with the right fin set up you're looking at a well performing board for small to medium size waves.
